Kindness 101

As part of our commitment to teach our student empathy, our students in Kindergarten, First and Second Grade are participating in a class called Kindness 101.  With each lesson, students learn a word and hear discussions with CBS TV’s Steve Hartman and his young children.  They explore a 3-5 minute video clip where Steve goes on the road sharing stories of kindness and love.  Following the segments students spend the week writing about and discussing the concepts learned.  Our second graders have learned about gratitude and have started a campaign to make bracelets.  They plan to sell the bracelets to parents at the school and decide how to spend the monies raised to help others.  STAY TUNED.  Below is the playlist where you can view all 30+ episodes of Steve Hartman’s Kindness 101 series.
