Pivot to Zoom

The health and safety of our students and staff is our number one priority.

With the rise in Covid cases and parent requests, we will be offering a blended instruction model. For the next week we will be shortening our instructional day to three hours. Students will have reading and language arts for their normal two hour block and math for their normal one hour block. Science and social studies will resume after this week.

By doing this students on zoom will only have to sit in front of a computer for three hours daily. This will also enable us to take the children having on-site instruction outside more often to limit their exposure to each other.

Students who need childcare will be accommodated our regular hours from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Families who wish to drop off a little later during this next week are encouraged to do so.

For the week of January 3 through January 7 our instructional time will be from 9 AM to noon. Those students attending school on our campus will have lunch at 12 o’clock and physical education at 12:30.

Families wishing to pick up after the instructional block are able to do so between noon and 1 o’clock. Families needing full day after school care can still pick up their students at their normal time.

On Monday, January 3 classes will be from 9:30 to 12:30. Students who are participating in zoom classes will find their textbooks and all materials needed on a table outside the school from 7:30-9:30 am on Monday January 3rd.

We will re-examine the current numbers with regard to Covid cases and the need or wish to continue this model for a second week as needed.
